Mixed Media Abstract

Wonderful mixed-media drawing that combines collage, gestural mark-making, and bold blocks of color to create a dynamic, architectural composition. At its center, four tall, angled black shapes made of cut paper stand like dark monoliths, giving the piece a strong visual anchor. Surrounding them, the artist overlays dense graphite scribbles that resemble rapid, automatic writing, adding movement, energy, and a sense of restless thought. On the left, a vertical row of deep cobalt squares introduces a structured rhythm, while on the right, vivid crimson bands create a striking counterbalance of warmth and intensity. Soft grey smudging near the center adds an atmospheric layer that contrasts with the sharper geometric elements. Altogether, it feels experimental and expressive!
