"Devon," Mid Century English Countryside River Scene

A charming original oil painting of the Devon countryside, painted in May 1976. A clear blue river dotted with stepping stones winds toward a row of cottages beneath a big leafy tree, with a path climbing a sunny green hillside edged with pink heather. Painted in a sincere, naïve style with bright summer greens and careful brushwork, it has a cheerful, nostalgic feel, like a memory of an English holiday.
